Things To Consider Before Booking Your Wedding Venue
Once your wedding date is fixed, there are a number of things that you need to plan for and book. The wedding venue is the most important of these, because almost every other vendor or service you need to book, depends on the wedding venue. The wedding venue you choose can make or break this important occasion for you.
So how should you go about choosing the right wedding venue, be it from budgeted marriage halls in Bangalore to beautiful lawns? How can you decide which is an appropriate venue for you or not? Here are a few points you should keep in mind before finalizing your wedding venue:
While shortlisting venues, you must keep the location in mind. It should be centrally located and must be easily accessible by all your guests. It should also be located in such an area that can be easily reached by public transportation. You should also make sure that it is not located on a narrow road, because that will lead to traffic jams and a lot of inconvenience for your guests.
Wedding season can be a very busy time with loads of traffic on the roads. There are some wedding venues that have multiple halls and party lawns and these may get rented out for the same day. Before you finalise a wedding venue ensure that there is enough parking space for all your guests. You don’t want your guests to spend ages looking for parking space. Also, if the parking area is at a bit of a distance from the wedding venue, do check to see if they offer valet service. In case they don’t, it is a good idea to arrange your own parking.
- Guest Rooms
If you are expecting a lot of outstation guests you will also have to arrange accommodation for them. Try and look for a wedding venue that offers guest rooms along with a banquet hall or party lawn. This will make it very convenient for all your guests to attend all the wedding functions. You will also not have to arrange transportation to ferry them to and fro and they will be on time for your wedding.
Before you finalise the venue, check to see what all they include in their package- the level of décor, food, number of snacks, main course etc. In case you are planning on an outdoor wedding, and the weather turns bad, you will need to find out what the wedding venue management does in such situations. Do they shift the wedding venue indoors? Do they charge extra for the same? Do they offer waterproofing in case of an outdoor venue?
- External Vendors
Sometimes people prefer to get use their own vendors for decoration and catering services. However, most wedding venues do not allow this since they have contracts with certain caterers and decorators and they will allow you to use only those vendors who are on their panel. In case you are planning to use your own decorator and caterer, this is something you must confirm with the venue before finalising.
While these are the basic things to keep in mind before finalising a wedding venue, there are other things that you could look in to such as whether the venue allows you to serve alcohol or not. You can also ask for a food tasting before you finalise the venue. Follow these tips and you are sure to find the right wedding venue for this special occasion.
