A study by the OECD projected a rather alarming forecast that states 47% of the jobs would be taken over by automation. Although the impact of automation is significant, it is revealed that one in two jobs among 32 countries said that they have been widely affected.

However, the rise of automation will cause a huge impact on professionals who are deemed low skilled or candidates with minimal job experiences.

According to McKinsey, 2000 and above activities generally come from over 800 countries and surprisingly around 50% of these job roles will be replaced by artificial intelligence and robotics. The areas that are at high risks includes physical activities taking place around predictable environments.

Having said there are certain functions such as data processing and data collection that is likely to be replaced by artificial intelligence. But the best part is complex tasks such as stakeholder interfacing and providing expertise by managers is at lesser risk. Although there are businesses that view AI and automation as a threat others have chosen these technologies as useful augmentation and not a hindrance or a threat.

Artificial intelligence is increasing the abilities of human manpower and not replacing their jobs. Thus, creating ample job opportunities for artificial intelligence engineer. It is also predicted that the AI and ML job skills is set to increase from $1.41 billion in 2017 to $8.81 billion by 2022.

At a 2018 report by World Economic Forum, the future of jobs that were included in the 15 million workers had job roles such as data scientists, data analysts, software developers, application developers, and social media specialists etc. Besides this, it was predicted that newer job roles such as AI experts or artificial intelligence engineer, machine learning specialists, process automation experts, information security analysts, blockchain specialists, and human-machine interaction designers will emerge and the demand will not cease to end till 2022.
